SINGIN’IN THE RAIN
SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN Screenplay by Betty Comden and Adolph Green – Songs by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed
The Golden Age of Hollywood Musical at the Théâtre du Lido on the Champs-Élysées!
Jean-Luc Choplin has entrusted Robert Carsen with a brand new production of Singin’ in the Rain, which will be performed from September 17 at the Théâtre du Lido.
Gene Kelly singing in the rain… legendary and unforgettable!
Singin’ in the Rain is one of Hollywood’s most celebrated films (ranked 5th greatest American film!). The film will be reborn on stage in September 2026 at the Théâtre du Lido, brought to life by a magnificent company of actors and singers and a full orchestra. Inspired by the American film by Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly released in 1952, Singin’ in the Rain is an optimistic and joyful show that will make you forget rainy days. Each song illuminates the story of three artists’ destinies during the 1920s in Hollywood, when silent cinema was gradually giving way to talking pictures, and black and white was fading in favour of colour.
The artistic team, led by director Robert Carsen, will present an entirely new and spectacular production featuring 240 dazzling costumes and show-stopping choreography and tap dancing. You won’t leave the Théâtre du Lido without humming the famous I’m singin’ in the rain, just singin’ in the rain.
